Puggles
Shipping
information

When
you adopt a pup from us, you have the option of picking up your pup or
having it shipped to you by airplane. Airline regulations state that
your pup MUST be at least 8 weeks old prior to shipping. If you
choose this method to receive your pup, we know your wait is longer but
that just means that they receive more training and
socialization. You'll be thrilled upon the arrival of your pup
so he or she is well worth the wait.
The
closest airport to us is Nashville International Airport
(BNA). The airlines we use for your dogs domestic travel are
American Airlines or Delta (preferred). In the event you wish to ship your pup
out of the continental United States, please contact us for more
information prior to placing a deposit. We DO NOT
SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES.
Reason being, Alaska has other
regulations and quarantine periods, Hawaii has a 120 day quarantine
period. Likewise due to extended
transit times we will not ship to Canada or outside of
the US.
Domestic
shipping is an additional $300 added to the price of your pup. We
will ship your puppy in a carrier approved for airline travel and include
all paperwork, health certificate and food/water necessary for the trip
home to you. The bottom of the carrier will be lined with paper or
other absorbent material to help keep your puppy dry on the trip. We
will also include a small towel, cuddly blanket or toy for your pup to snuggle
with during their flight. Shipping
costs may increase over time as airlines increase the
price of a ticket. We reserve the right to
increase our fee accordingly. Your $300 shipping fee covers
the following items:
-
Cargo
Flight Ticket Cost and insurance $240.00 (as
of nov 2009)
-
Carrier
$26.00
-
Health
Certificate $35.00
-
Flight
Insurance $3.00 (our loss for your protection)
-
Gas
to and From Airport $30.00 (my loss to keep
your cost lower)
We
reserve the right to delay shipping your pup in extreme cold or hot
weather. Although the pups travel in the temperature
controlled cargo bay of the plane, the pups may be
exposed to temperatures on the tarmac for up to an hour
which may still pose a health safety risk. The airlines
also monitor temperatures in departure, connecting
and destination cities and if above 90 (sometimes 80) or below 45
degrees, will not ship pets.
This is because the dogs will be exposed to outside weather conditions
between flights. Most airlines will not ship snub nosed dogs (pugs and
bulldogs) from May to September due to the heat but since the Puggle
inherits their mothers muzzle, they are not included in that
category. Should we ever breed and ship pugs,
temperature restrictions do apply.
*Per
our 72-Hour health guarantee, we are not responsible for any accidents or
injury once the airline personnel have taken possession of your pup.
Any claims must be addressed with the airline. Insurance will be
purchased when available.
Should
you have any questions about shipping your precious Puggle pup, feel free
to ask.
