Snuggle With Your Very Own Puggle
Our Breeding Policy **Please Read All Below- Revised for 2010
2010 marks the 5th year that Kentucky Puggles has been in operation. Through the years we’ve tweaked and revised our program, always striving to provide the BEST care and service to our puppies and clients. Our adoption fees will remain the same as will the high level of care and detail we give. We will continue to improve and explore new products and ways to include our adoptive families into the growth process before their pups go home. As our economy has changed, so too must our business. 2010 marks a new beginning and we’ve come to realize the need to change some of our practices in order to ensure stability within our business and to provide a better quality of service for our clients and puppies. In years past we had individual litter lists and took up to 5 deposits per litter. Once a pup was reserved, it was unavailable to anyone else. The lists were always changing and quite often we turned away many families wanting to adopt a pup because the spaces and/or pups available were reserved. For one reason or another, sometimes families on the litter lists would need to wait to adopt a pup but many times wouldn’t tell us until AFTER the pups were born or ready to go home – after we’d turned people away. Sometimes also, we'd have clients waiting for a pup and the gender of choice was not available, resulting in disappointment and a longer wait. Although we understand life and circumstances change and the gender of unborn pups can't be guaranteed, it’s difficult maintaining a program in such a manner. Once puppies are born, our focus should be on the needs of our pups and our clients, not trying to find homes for the pups. This is the main reason we are changing our practices. The changes we’ve made below are to help us serve you, our pups and our business better. In 2010 we will no longer have separate litter lists, but a general reserve list for puppies as well as an extended reserve waiting list (explained below). Our breeding philosophy has and will remain the same. We believe each breeder (whether backyard or professional) is responsible for the life they create and therefore we do not produce life without having a home waiting to welcome that being before they're even born. Although our home is their home until they leave, we raise our puppies for a loving family of their own. In the event we have additional pups after birth, those pups will remain with us for the duration until they are placed. Our puppies are raised in OUR home & family environment for YOUR family environment. We strive to include our adoptive families every step of the way and provide education and information in the form of bi weekly emails, photos, videos, etc. so that our clients are VERY much part of the process from the beginning. Our clients input helps tweak each litters upbringing so they're better prepared for their new home. Once pups are born, those adopting families receive photos at least once per week until the pups go home. Pups are chosen by each family either by photos/videos or in person beginning at 4 weeks of age. We do not "hold" deposit spots. If you decide to mail a deposit, someone could slip in front of you. We accept PayPal for deposits and installments and are happy to send you an invoice for ease of payment. Please do NOT send us your financial information. Due to liability and identity theft issues, any emails containing such personal financial information will be promptly deleted. Although the average litter size is 5-8 pups, we can not guarantee exact time of year of birth, gender born or size of litter. Most often a litter will be born within a few months of your deposit but Mother Nature is never guaranteed. Time of receiving a pup depends on current waiting list and breeding cycles of our females as well as gender and number of pups born per litter. It is very possible that even if you have a later placement on the list, you may get a pup ahead of someone else depending on Kentucky Puggles will guarantee a pup of your preferred gender for you within one year of deposit or your deposit is refundable. Because we take deposits prior to breeding and the birth of a litter, we seldom have available pups upon birth. Therefore we strongly urge you to place a deposit if you desire a Kentucky Puggle. Newly Revised for 2010 Waiting List and Litter Reservations The RESERVED LITTER LIST – This is for families who desire a pup within one year of deposit placement. As deposits are received to reserve a puppy, each family, deposit receipt date and gender desired will be noted on the website. When a litter is born, families will be notified and the pups will be placed for adoption according to placement on the reserve litter list and gender desired. (Each family will still choose their own pup). If we fail to provide you with a puppy within one year of deposit placement, your deposit is fully refundable. In the event a family on the reserve list is not ready for a pup at the time of birth, they will be placed at the end of the reserve list ONE TIME or can move onto the EXTENDED WAITING LIST. If a puppy is available and a family asks to be moved to the end of the reserve list, their deposit is no longer refundable after a year. The EXTENDED WAITING LIST - As sometimes happens, life and situations change and a family wanting to adopt a pup finds they must wait until an uncertain future time to do so. Most of the families on this list have already been on the reserve litter list and opted not to accept a pup when available. Instead of losing a deposit, those families will be placed on the extended reserve waiting list for up to 2 years until they are ready to adopt a puppy. The clients on the extended waiting list MUST inform Kentucky Puggles when they are ready to adopt a pup. They will be moved to the END of the Reserved Litter List to wait till their pup is born. Unless a pup is sick, injured or dies, the deposits are NOT refundable. If a client does not move from this list, deposits will be forfeited after 2 years **. **Exception -for those clients who placed deposits prior to 2010. Our Deposit and Payment Policies
